According to the Economic Information released by Emater/RS-Ascar last Thursday (26/08), the canola crops cultivated in the administrative regions of the Institution of Frederico Westphalen, Santa Maria and Soledade are in the vegetative and of flowering, with good health and adequate plant stand.

The low soil moisture content slows down the growth and development of the canola crop, but without impact on the productive potential. Producers monitor the development of diseases to carry out preventive applications.

In Santa Bárbara do Sul, the main producer of white oats in the Ijuí region, crops have better productive potential, benefiting from the greater volume of rain that occurred in July and August. Harvesting has already started in the first sown areas, and yields range between 1.500 and 2 thousand kilos per hectare.

The period between August 16 and 22 was characterized by low humidity, isolated and low accumulated precipitation and a large temperature range in most of the wheat producing regions of Rio Grande do Sul. The week began with milder temperatures, which gradually rose until Friday, exceeding 30°C, with a subsequent sudden drop at dusk. In general, wheat cultivation continues to develop slowly in areas with low soil moisture.

In the weekly survey carried out by Emater/RS-Ascar in Rio Grande do Sul, the average price of wheat remained high, with an increase of 0,43% compared to the previous week, going from R$ 81,87 to R$ 82,22 per bag. The price of the product available in Cruz Alta remains at R$90,00 per bag.
