LongPing High-Tech starts selling sorghum seeds on the national market. Considered one of the most produced cereals in the world, the crop has been gaining prominence in Brazil, especially during the off-season. According to projections from the National Supply Company (Conab), an increase of more than 35% in grain production is expected in the 2021/2022 harvest, compared to the previous harvest, exceeding 2,8 million tons.

Known for its easy adaptation and high productivity, sorghum will supply animal feed in the dry months. It is a plant resistant to water stress and with good leaf health, with excellent performance in safrinha planting. The new crop will be sold under the Morgan and Forseed brands.

At Morgan, the mid-sized MG2220 hybrid arrives to form part of the portfolio, serving the high and medium investment market, with the innovation already known to the producer. With excellent health and productive stability, the seed is responsive to the increase in technology and ideal for integration with mid- to late-cycle hybrids, allowing planting and harvesting to be staggered, in addition to being tolerant to tipping over, enabling a safe harvest.

“Morgan, as vice-leader in the off-season corn market, works to always offer the best product to Brazilian farmers. And with sorghum it will be no different, we will continue alongside rural producers offering exclusive solutions and high productivity hybrids”, highlights Ana Nascimento (in the photo, left), national marketing manager at Morgan.

Already in Forseed's portfolio, the FS66SG hybrid brings the brand's expertise, which combines technology with specificity, has stability and a high production ceiling in all environments, range for different regions, high leaf health and is tolerant to tipping over. It is a safe hybrid, also responsive to management technologies.

“Sorghum is a crop that is beginning to be more valued by Brazilian farmers. Forseed has a broad portfolio of solutions and now brings another opportunity for rural producers to develop their crops further and increase the profitability of their production. All of this is always based on research and genetic improvement”, highlights Fabiano Romero (in the photo, right), national marketing manager at Forseed.

Sorghum licensing

With the aim of sharing its portfolio with other companies, LongPing High-Tech will begin the Sorghum Licensing Program. This will be an opportunity for representatives and resellers to sell products that rely on the excellent quality of LongPing High-Tech germplasm. With this, the licensee will have access to an exclusive portfolio, annual access to sorghum hybrids and a minimum volume with a business projection for five years per licensed product.

Expanding LongPing High-Tech

LongPing High-Tech has been working hard to grow Brazilian agribusiness, with investments to boost an expanding market with great development potential. Since the beginning of its operations in Brazil, the company has invested more than R$650 million in all its units in the country to leverage its position towards leadership in the corn hybrid market.

Contributions are being made in Primavera do Leste and Sorriso (MT), Araguari and Paracatu (MG), Cravinhos and Jardinópolis (SP) and Rolândia (PR), which are gaining new structures. All these investments aim to expand customer support throughout Brazil, as well as support the growth of agribusiness.
