Farmers’ breeding: the Horsch story
German company, formally established in 1984, is one of the increasingly rare examples of solutions developed by farmers for farmers
The Kynetec consultancy, which recently acquired Spark Inteligencia Estratégica, will be delivering a series of 'FarmTrak' studies on crop nutrition from June onwards. In addition to soybean and coffee crops, already covered by the company's research in previous harvests, unprecedented data will be released in the country on producer behavior regarding nutritional management in sugar cane, off-season corn and cotton. FarmTrak Nutrição Soja, in finalization, opens the publication schedule for the surveys.
According to Kynetec's research coordinator, Giovanni Coser, between the months of July and October the consultancy will deliver the panels related to the other crops investigated. Except for the sugarcane study, referring to fiscal year 2022, all surveys come from the 2022-23 harvest. The analyzes cover, above all, segments of seed treatment, soil correction, base and top dressing, foliar fertilizers and biostimulants.
“The research provides references to management practices related to fertilizers and focuses on the relevance of values, volume and treatment potential for each segment studied”, summarizes Coser. “Complementary, robust analyses, deal with market access models, indicators of adherence to products and the technologies most used by farmers”, he adds.
Coser also clarifies that with the new surveys, Kynetec is beginning to build a history of data on nutritional management in the most important crops in the country. He also emphasizes that the development of the panels being launched required around 5 personal interviews with producers in the main points of the national agricultural frontier: GO, MT, MS, MG, PR, RS, SP and MAPITOBA, among others.
