Jacto and Koppert enter into a partnership to release macrobiological biodefenses in grain and fiber crops, starting from the 2021/22 harvest. The companies estimate the application of the products on 250 thousand hectares throughout Brazil. The new distribution policy provides that producers who use Jacto's service to release Koppert biodefensive products will receive personalized service and guaranteed application quality.

According to Koppert's commercial director, Gustavo Herrmann, the objective is to offer an integrated service provider, with adequate training and qualifications to provide the best application in the field. “In this way, we were able to verticalize the operation with the aim of confirming the performance of our products in the field, including post-sales work”, he explains.

“Farmers and rural properties need solutions that simplify the adoption of integrated pest management and biological control and, at the same time, provide quality and digital traceability of the operation. Therefore, by combining Jacto's expertise in application technologies with Koppert's knowledge in the production and marketing of biological inputs, we allow the producer to demonstrate both performance and sustainability in practice”, says Fernando Gonçalves, president of Jacto.

Koppert has in its portfolio two macrobiological insecticides for the indicated crops: Podisibug (Telenomus podisi), to control different types of bedbugs; and Pretiobug (Trichogramma pretiosum), for the management of caterpillars and moths. For Jacto, the partnership follows the proposal of being an integrated service provider with the capacity to serve 100% of the chain through Jacto Next, a new business area responsible for the commercialization and delivery of specialized services within the gate.

“Through the EKOS operations management module, present in the Jacto Connect digital ecosystem, we offer solutions for the complete digitalization of the farm, with technology for internet signal coverage, instrumentation and connection of multi-brand machines, weather stations, electronic traps, images of satellites and software for monitoring and managing operations. Among the integrated services are special operations with drones, which includes the release of Koopert macrobiologicals”, explains Felippe Antonelle F. Gonçalves, business manager at Jacto Next. “And the producer can monitor the entire operation on his cell phone, through the Jacto Connect app,” she adds.

Herrmann advises that Koppert created an application called Natutec so that the customer, the commercial team, logistics and industry, together with the Jacto Next team, are integrated with information from the entire process: from production to after-sales. “In real time, everyone involved will know the quantity of product leaving the factory and the transportation time to the customer, guiding Jacto Next’s release teams so that customers have the best experience with our products.” He also highlights that Natutec provides information to the customer regarding the necessary care when storing products (temperature and humidity) to guarantee the quality and the probable date of birth of the parasitoid, important for the moment of release, in addition to informing the main chemical molecules that cannot be applied by the producer, during safety intervals, to guarantee the survival and effectiveness of the macro-organism in the field.
