To offer differentiated and more competitive financial conditions to input resellers, Koppert entered into a partnership with fintech Pag-agro, with joint operations scheduled to begin in September. With this new business modality, resellers now have access to credit with attractive interest rates and quick availability, and will be able to obtain discounts when purchasing Koppert inputs in cash.
According to Koppert's financial manager, Marilia Forchetti Matheus, Pag-Agro will provide differentiated and competitive financial cost conditions for Koppert's partner resellers to carry out their purchases in cash, based on the anticipation of electronic installment sales invoices, and with a fee subsidy paid by Koppert itself. “The partnership aims to initially cover 10% of Koppert’s revenue for the 2021/22 harvest, but with potential for growth.”
For Koppert's commercial director, Gustavo Herrmann, the partnership brings benefits for everyone. “Resellers now have better conditions to negotiate their purchases and Koppert, by receiving cash sales, generates the necessary cash to support the company's marked growth.”, he explains.
The most attractive conditions offered by Pag-Agro are achieved by the diversification of clients that Koppert works with, and its purpose, given that the financial market prices operations that have a positive environmental impact bias more competitively, as occurs in credit for the acquisition of biological inputs.
Pag-Agro, a platform affiliated with the resource manager Captalys, is a fintech focused on granting credit in the input chain, with a focus on accelerating cash flow for resales, seeding and fertilizer mixing. “The platform receives installment sales duplicates in digital format, selects eligible producers through online checks, registers the duplicates in an electronic center, and pays resales in cash. Subsequently, within the period of the respective harvests, it receives directly from producers through invoices issued”, explains the co-founder of Pag-Agro, Jonatas Couri.
For Pag-Agro, the opportunity to work with Koppert means an ideal alignment between biological and digital innovations. “Being part of the agriculture 4.0 ecosystem with Koppert, seeking to optimize production as a way of granting credit, will provide, in addition to environmental sustainability, greater economic freedom for the sector”, concludes Couri.
