Rising production costs worry rice growers for the next harvest
Federarroz guides rice farmers to increase crop rotation and reduce the area designed for grain
Koppert do Brasil, a Dutch multinational, and the Canadian Acadian Plant Health do Brasil begin an unprecedented commercial partnership in the country, uniting their sales forces from the 2021/22 harvest, with the objective of selling R$50 million in bioactivators during the season . Acadian's products, formulated with extract from the seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum, will be offered within the Koppert Integrated System, which comprises a mix of biological inputs that aim to increase the resilience and productivity of the main commercial crops.
Two years ago, Koppert launched two commercial brands of bioactivators – Stingray and Roadster, and positioned Acadian as a supplier for its bioactivator portfolio. The brands are intended for grain crops, sugar cane and HF in general. “Now, we have decided to integrate the commercial teams and accelerate the business. We also have global synergy for the development of new products and formulations”, explains Koppert’s B2B manager, André Cerignoni.
Bioactivation is highly demanded by producers in all crops of economic importance, and has also shown its viability in extensive cultivation, bringing an important return for Koppert customers. “The interaction between companies and technologies has shown positive results in managing the abiotic stress suffered by plants due to droughts or low temperatures, promoting stabilization in the production process”, says Cerignoni.
For the director of marketing and distribution at Acadian Plant Health, Daniel Gheller, the objective is to combine commercial efforts, using the technical experience and market access structure built by the companies to distribute the portfolio and offer the producer a complete package for control of pests and diseases and reduced stress in crops, contributing to greater productivity and sustainability of crops. “We want to combine and offer two scientifically proven technologies, bioactivation and biological control, for producers looking for a sustainable model to obtain greater harvests with profitability”.
Acadian Plant Health has global leadership in research and production of products exclusively based on Ascophyllum nodosum, globally recognized for promoting plant growth and improving their resistance to abiotic stress and increasing productivity.
The products can be used in cereals, sugar cane, fruits and vegetables, in the planting furrow and in foliar applications, ensuring rapid crop establishment, better use of nutrients and water, in addition to increasing the quality and productivity of crops.
