Jundiaí City Hall, through the Agribusiness, Supply and Tourism Management Unit (Ugaat), promotes another edition of the Campo Limpo Program, next Thursday (30). The purpose of the initiative is to collect and correctly dispose of empty pesticide packaging. The action will be at the Nossa Senhora das Vitórias Cooperative.
The meeting will be held in partnership with the Jundiaí Agricultural Association and the Louveira Rural Producers Association. “The event is an opportunity to help rural producers correctly dispose of pesticide packaging. With this, in addition to reducing risks to people and contamination of the environment, the farmer also remains aware of current legislation”, recalls Ugaat manager, Eduardo Alvarez.
To carry out the itinerant collection of packaging, the Agribusiness Department provides accredited and trained professionals to receive the material. On the date of the event, farmers must be responsible for taking empty packaging. Rural producers must do the triple washing and deliver the packaging in a condition to be sent to the recycling station. “Another new thing is that, next year, we will require a delivery receipt for pesticide packaging as a prerequisite for registration with the Jundiaí Municipal Agribusiness Support Program (PROAJ). It’s a way of ensuring sustainability in rural production”, explains Agribusiness Director, Isabel Harder.
After collection, the material is sent to the recycling process, which results in more than 30 products for various uses, mainly for industrial purposes such as artifacts for civil construction, the automotive industry, artifacts for the energy industry, new packaging and lids for agricultural pesticides. , between others.
