John Deere talks about technology in the field during CNMA and YAMI

Technology and the future of agriculture will be prominent themes in John Deere's participation in the 4th National Congress of Women in Agribusiness (CNMA) and the Youth Agribusiness Movement International (YAMI), events aimed at women and the new generation of agribusiness, held in October 8th and 9th, in São Paulo (SP).

John Deere's participation in both events reinforces the company's vision that women and young people play indispensable roles in Brazilian agriculture. "The impact of young and female strength in the field is undeniable. John Deere makes a point of bringing a rich exchange of information with those who make agribusiness happen and grow in Brazil", says Rodrigo Bonato, Sales Director at John Deere Brazil.

On the first day of the CNMA program, Bonato will take part in the round table on "National Governance". On the occasion, the executive will speak about agro-industrial corporate governance, with a focus on digital farming, drawing a parallel between the role of technology in the future of agribusiness and the importance of the female presence in the sector.

"In today's world, producers face increasing challenges, such as labor shortages and the challenge of producing more with less space and inputs. Pressure tends to increase due to population growth. Fortunately, new technologies are available to support the producer in optimizing all processes, from planting to harvesting. However, success in this equation depends not only on technological innovations, but, mainly, on those who use them to make the best decisions in their day-to-day activities in the field. In this context, women are increasingly a central figure, as we have a growing female participation in the production and management stages", explains Bonato.

On the same day, Felipe Santos, Marketing & Integrated Solutions Manager at John Deere Brazil, will participate in YAMI as part of the round table "What am I going to do that won't be replaced by a robot?", in which issues related to dynamics will be discussed. between technology and professionals in the field, signaling ways on how young people should prepare for this new reality. According to Santos, it is necessary to keep in mind that technology is not a threat but rather a great ally for the producer, manager and operator.

Although machines already make decisions based on algorithms, professionals have something that will never be replaced, which is critical analysis of the entire scenario, using technology as their main ally. "John Deere understands that the transformation we are experiencing in agriculture has four major pillars: sensors, data, artificial intelligence and robotics. The future of agriculture will be guided by decisions made through data analysis. It is important that young people from an early age understand that combining technology in the production chain serves to improve results in terms of productivity and cost reduction, helping professionals to focus on activities that have greater added value", comments Santos.
