John Deere participates in the XXX International Sugarcane Congress

John Deere will be present at the XXX International Sugarcane Congress - ISSCT 2019, held from August 31st to September 8th, in the Provinces of Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy, in Argentina. By sponsoring the most important international meeting on sugarcane, the company reaffirms its leading role in promoting the sustainable development of cultivation through innovation. "We are keen to support this initiative that will be the stage for such a rich exchange of information for advances in sugarcane cultivation. John Deere recognizes the importance of synergy between academic knowledge and technological solutions to guarantee good agricultural practices and the best utilization by the producer", Rodrigo Bonato, sales director at John Deere Brazil.

The company will have a stand at the event and will have the participation of Argentine dealers Zafra and Cia Mercantil to present their portfolio of sugarcane solutions. Recently, John Deere announced the launch of the 2nd generation of harvesters for cultivation. This is an unprecedented model developed to meet the particularities of the sugarcane market, combining efficiency, intelligence and sustainability. "The equipment has two independent base cutting systems and, therefore, is capable of harvesting up to 2,5 times more than models available on the market today. Furthermore, this mechanism will reduce the biggest problem in sugarcane fields: compaction of the soil. This is because its structure allows two rows of sugarcane to be harvested while preserving the strip of land centered between them untouched," explains Bonato. The new generation of harvesters should hit the market in 2021, with production at the Catalão factory, in Goiás.
