John Deere announces expansion of construction machinery factory in Indaiatuba (SP)

John Deere, with its line of heavy machinery and construction equipment, announces that it will nationalize from 2021 the production of three models of motor graders - 620G, 670G and 770G -, currently imported. To this end, it will expand the Indaiatuba (SP) factory by 12.000 m² of manufacturing area. With this announcement, shortly after the recent nationalization of the 700J, 750J and 850J tracked tractors, the company completes its portfolio of solutions to provide full support to its customers in the challenge of developing Brazilian infrastructure, on fronts such as logistics, housing, transportation , sanitation and/or energy.

This movement by the company is guided by the good prospects for the sector in the coming years. For Roberto Marques, Sales Director of the Construction division at John Deere Brazil, the country has a high pent-up demand for construction work that will need to be unlocked in a short space of time. "There are several factors that lead us to a positive expectation: the exponential growth of the population, the concentration of people in urban centers with the formation of megacities and the urgent need for improvements in the flow of agricultural crops, the engine of GDP. To achieve this balance , we need to be prepared from a technological point of view, investing in precision, connected and intelligent constructions. This is the way forward", says the executive.

"Our strategy for Brazil is long-term and independent of temporary market fluctuations, which allows us to offer efficient product and service alternatives to customers. We are happy to be contributing to the strengthening of the sector, in addition to enabling the creation of more jobs and encourage the growth of the national market", he highlights.

Producing motor graders in the country will allow them to fit into different machine financing programs for Brazilian customers, facilitating access and even exporting these items to other countries in South America. "We are the only factory in the world, in addition to United States, able to produce some of the models in the John Deere portfolio, such as tracked tractors and motor graders from 2021. This is a reason for pride and proof that we are a reference in issues of modernization, factory infrastructure and labor qualified", comments Marques. Currently, eight models of wheel loaders, five John Deere and four Hitachi excavators, one backhoe loader and three models of tracked tractors are produced in Indaiatuba. Three models of loaders, three models of excavators and, now, motor graders are imported. "Nationalization provides greater agility to meet the demands of our market. Because we know our customers' needs, we can better shape our products, with agility in delivery and the possibility of accessing credit upon acquisition", he concludes.

Versatility

John Deere's 620G, 670G and 770G motor graders are known for their versatility and tradition, after all, the brand was responsible for launching the first articulated motor grader in 1967. Due to their performance, the machines can be used in the construction, mining, agricultural, in landfills and in the aggregates industry – suitable for light applications (maintenance of local roads), intense (highway construction) or severe (soil preparation for agriculture, especially for sugar cane).

In addition to being multipurpose, all models have telemetry and some have automatic leveling control, with technological and GPS resources, which allow leveling to be automated and thus bring more agility and better finishing to projects. The machines can also be equipped with John Deere Worksight, an integrated package of technological solutions for business optimization. In Brazil, it has technologies such as JDLink, Fleet Care, Grade Control and Service ADVISOR Remote. The company's portfolio is designed to integrate these technologies, while distributors help transform data into answers for customers.
