Corn planting in RS reaches around 80% of the estimated area
1% has entered the grain filling phase, another 12% are in flowering and 87% are still in germination and vegetative development
The adoption of hydroponics in the cultivation of hardwoods in a sustainable way, using water reused from rain during planting, is an example of sustainability in the field that comes from Bom Verdi, in Porangaba-SP. Sustainable production on the property can be known in detail in the new episode of Jacto's #Agroqueinspira Series.
Owner and rural producer Heloise Bergamo Dalcin Souza says that Bom Verdi found in hydroponics a way to grow vegetables in a completely sustainable way.
In the farm's 14 thousand meters of covered area, more than seven crops and 20 varieties of hydroponic products, conventional products and ready-to-eat salads are produced.
All water used in planting is reused from rain and if it weren't for the system installed on the farm, the property would use 70% more water to produce vegetables.
.Agriculture has always been present in the family, but sustainable production was a condition for the development of the business at Bom Verdi.
"From the beginning, we thought of Bom Verdi's production based on technologies with less impact on the environment. The vegetable packaging is made from recyclable plastic and all waste produced on the farm is separated for recycling. We also use green manure to improve the soil quality and, with the acquisition of a biodigester, the organic waste generated on the property is transformed into cooking gas and biofertilizer, used in domestic vegetable gardens and employees' gardens", he says.
Inspiring socio-environmental actions and sustainable projects that are transforming the reality of the countryside are the themes of the special video series #AgroQueInspira, a Jacto initiative whose protagonists are partners, customers and suppliers in the agribusiness chain.
The videos are published on Jacto Youtube and shared on the company's other social networks.
