ABCSEM has new managers at the helm of the entity in 2022
The association has a new president in charge and will be led by a new executive secretary, who will be in charge of institutional relations
Sustainable production actions and socio-environmental projects that transform the reality of the countryside are themes of the special series #AgroqueInspira, an initiative by Jacto, a Brazilian multinational of machinery and solutions for agriculture. The videos feature producers, partners and suppliers in the agribusiness chain as protagonists.
The first episode of 2022, which is now available, presents the sustainability work of Grupo Progresso, in Sebastião Leal (PI), which has changed the future of many families and employees.
The social and environmental responsibility actions developed by the Heinrich Sanders family go beyond the gates of the group's seven farms. With the support of partners, such as the Department of Education of the Municipality of Sebastião Leal and Fatec Shunji Nishimura, from Pompeia-SP, the group promotes important educational projects. They are also strong supporters of the social actions of APAE, in Uruçuí (PI), and COCAME (Cooperative of Recyclable Material Collectors) regarding the correct disposal and recycling of solid waste.
“Many farmers seek to combine knowledge, technologies and socio-environmental awareness to encourage education and sustainable productivity in Brazilian agribusiness. Having contact with this environment and being able to tell these stories is really motivating, as it inspires changes in behavior and leads other producers to review habits and processes”, comments Wanderson Tosta, marketing director at Jacto.
The videos that narrate these actions by small and large producers are available on the Jacto channel on Youtube and available on the company's other social networks.
“In addition to learning and being inspired by the sustainable practices carried out by these producers, we were pleased to see these farmers’ sincere concern for the topic. They wanted to tell their stories, motivate other people, but they had no means or channels to publicize it”, says Lorenzo Padovano, Jacto's advertising and marketing specialist. “Jacto’s initiative has been very well accepted by them, due to the relevance of the topic as a fundamental issue for agriculture and society as a whole”, he adds.
Among the practices already shared are those of Good Future Group, which through self-sustainable activities impacts the entire community surrounding Fazenda Santo Antônio, in Campo Verde-MT, and the Group's other farms.
Through creative and motivating projects, such as "Separô" and "Sementes do Futuro", Bom Futuro takes care of the soil, solid waste produced in agriculture and the entire community that surrounds Fazenda Santo Antônio, generating development and countless opportunities for hundreds of people. Through Separô, all types of waste (plastic, paper, glass, etc.) are sold to generate income and finance projects maintained by Bom Futuro.
Another reference within the #Agroqueinspira series is the Good Verdi, in Porangaba-SP, with the adoption of hydroponics in the cultivation of hardwoods using water reused from rain during planting. If it weren't for the system installed on the farm, the property would use 70% more water to produce vegetables.
In Minas Gerais, an example of the use of sustainable practices and productivity is the group MCMiaki Coffee, which is based in Patrocínio and bases its planting operations on the 3R's policy: reduce, reuse and recycle. Among the results recorded is the reduction of carbon emissions. In the last harvest, 2 thousand tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) were no longer emitted throughout the production process.
