Currently, Brazilians consume only a third of the amount of vegetables recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), equivalent to at least 400 grams per day. Aiming to increase this consumption, as well as greater awareness about the importance of a healthier diet, Isla Sementes has been carrying out an ambitious project since 2014: showing that Brazil has many more varieties of vegetables than imagined and that it is possible to improve the quality of our food by consuming more varied and delicious vegetables.
The 'Chefs Harvest' meeting, launched by Isla three years ago, took chefs from all over Brazil to visit their experimental garden in Itapuã - RS to harvest straight from the tree and show the gastronomic market that the country has many more varieties of vegetables than imagine, in order to help Brazilians eat better.
