Embraer's agricultural aviation division reached the mark of 63 Ipanema 203 aircraft sold in the 11 months of this year, surpassing the number of 62 aircraft sold in the same period last year. Launched in 2015, the new generation of aircraft has been accumulating an increase in orders each year. In 2020, 28 units were sold.
One of the important factors that boosted agricultural aviation this year was the record grain production in the 2021/22 harvest, which produced 271,2 million tons, an increase of almost 14,5 million tons compared to the previous cycle, according to data from the National Supply Company (Conab).
With strong sales activity this year, the company solidifies its market leadership position, which finds in Ipanema 203 the efficiency, productivity, economy and robustness that transform it into an essential tool for the country's agribusiness. Throughout 2023, The aircraft will also bring new improvements in aspects such as ergonomics, maintenance and durability, taking into account customer suggestions.
Sany Onofre, Embraer's agricultural aviation manager, highlights that the record sales of the Ipanema 203 also accompanies greater engagement across the entire segment, with more intense interactions between professionals working in maintenance workshops, training schools, service providers and customers. “There is a continuous exchange of good practices throughout the national territory”, said Onofre, who also emphasizes other fronts of action to strengthen the sector in Brazil.
“Collaborating so that everyone has up-to-date maintenance, increasing the number of approved workshops and preparing new pilots are some of the essential actions for the development of the industry as a whole.”
Among the actions carried out, Embraer's customer support team has given lectures on flight safety and continuous improvements to maintenance processes. In addition, partnerships were signed with the companies Sabri and Agroefetiva, which from 2023 onwards will offer free consultancy to Ipanema buyers so that the aircraft operate with the ideal configuration to achieve maximum performance, according to the needs of each client.
