Rust Monitoring Program Launched in Rio Grande do Sul
Activities for the 2024-25 harvest began with the installation of 74 spore collectors in soybean crops in the state
Five proposals were selected for the Open Innovation Program in Fruit Growing – InovaFrut 2024, coordinated by Embrapa Cassava and Fruit Growing (Cruz das Almas, BA), a Unit of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – Embrapa, linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The call for proposals was launched in August of this year, and was published by Cultivar Magazine.
“Open innovation” is considered to be the introduction of novelty or improvement, in the productive and/or social environment, of creations obtained, generated and/or developed in partnership with other institutions, in order to improve the development of products and processes, provide better services for society, increase efficiency and added value.
“InovaFrut 2024 met our expectations. We received numerous proposals linked to the different priority themes defined in the call for proposals, which presented very challenging ideas, and we will seek to implement some of them together with their proponents. In our understanding, initiatives such as InovaFrut 2024 expand Embrapa’s capacity to approach private partners in search of solutions for some of the priority themes of Brazilian fruit farming”, highlights researcher Eduardo Chumbinho de Andrade, deputy head of Research, Development & Innovation.
