Nucoffee reveals specialty coffees produced with new fermentation technique
Nucoffee Artisans Program, carried out in partnership with UFLA, established a new type of specialty coffee in Brazil
Agribusiness is an extremely competitive and dynamic sector of the economy that is constantly evolving. Today, the work of producers “inside the gate” is being increasingly improved with investments in technologies that are being launched, so that each harvest can produce more and better. However, keeping an eye on the market, knowing how to buy inputs and sell production, and more than that, being an entrepreneur and seeing opportunities and partnerships is also a challenge and requires study and dedication.
The mission is not easy, leaving the traditional mode of production which was passed down from previous generations to migrate to a new business model scares and worries many producers. The good news is that startups and AgTechs run mostly by young entrepreneurs, who know everything and a little more about technology and innovation and are helping to reformulate the way of buying, selling and maximizing production in the field.
One of these companies focused 100% on maximizing production and valuing the work of rural producers is Seedz. The startup based in Belo Horizonte (MG), developed loyalty software that values the relationship between farmers and ranchers with agricultural companies and also in other sectors.
The solution is very simple, when purchasing products from partner companies, “seedz” is accumulated, a virtual currency, which can be exchanged on the platform for products and even courses, thus encouraging these producers to reinvest in their own farms. “We are a technology company, focused on developing solutions that improve the relationship between producers and companies, thus creating a new buying and selling model, focused on trust”, says the CEO of Seedz, Matheus Ganem.
Seedz's innovation, which involves not only technology, but also the proposal for a new business model and the remodeling of relationships between producers and companies, gained prominence. An example of this is that the company's CEO will be one of the participants in the Contrarian Agriculture Series 2.0 event, a series of lectures organized by Agrobravo and the University of Iowa, in the United States, with the proposal to promote “contrarian” thinking in agribusiness , that is, a process that stimulates creativity and the search for different solutions when faced with difficult situations. Among the topics covered, highlights include: innovation, succession, competitiveness, opportunity, business vision and entrepreneurship.
With this proposal, the event will bring together personalities from national and international agribusiness, who will bring their experiences and innovations within the sector. On December 1st, Ganem will give his presentation telling his success story with the creation of Seedz and his professional trajectory. “Being able to participate in an event with people who have contributed to agribusiness for so many years makes us excited about the sector, which opens doors to innovation and entrepreneurship. This participation shows the pioneering spirit of agricultural agents, always looking for solutions that improve the market and the development of agricultural activities”, says the CEO of Seedz.
In addition to creating technological solutions, the entrepreneur is a 4th generation rural producer, graduated in engineering and has solid experience in the market. In 2017 he founded Seedz, a platform already used by more than 60 thousand registered producers across Brazil and 5 thousand professionals in the sector. In addition, there are already 300 companies registered in the software from different agricultural segments such as: seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, fertilizers, financial services, animal health and nutrition, machinery, equipment, logistics, among other solutions. Highlights include multinationals such as UPL, Yara, John Deere, Agro Galaxy Helm, Agro100, Agro Ferrari and cooperatives such as Cocamar.
According to Ganem, the main message taken for an event like this is that the company has its eye on the future of agribusiness, a future that will be increasingly digital, with farms connecting and the chain increasingly integrated. “From before the door until the food arrives on the table, the consumer will be more present, wanting to understand its origin. Digitization accelerates this process and brings more transparency to the chain, and more speed in the relationship between companies, producers, production and the consumer market. Seedz invests and will increasingly invest more in the integration of the links in this chain, promoting greater gains for the producer, efficiency in company decisions and sustainability in the sector”, he concludes.
