Forecast indicates heat, intense cold and rain in different regions of the country

The weather forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) for the week of June 23 to 30, 2025 indicates high maximum temperatures in the south of the North Region, north of the Central-West Region and north of the Northeast Region. The highest values ​​are expected to occur in the southeast of Amazonas, Rondônia, south of Pará, north of Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Maranhão and Piauí, on June 29. In the east of the Northeast, as well as in part of the Southeast Region and Paraná, maximum temperatures are expected to be below 28°C. In the south-central part of Rio Grande do Sul, maximum temperatures below 18°C ​​are expected.

Minimum temperatures are expected to remain above 24°C in the North Region and in the north of the Northeast Region. In the center-south of the country, minimum temperatures below 18°C ​​are expected. Between today (23/6) and tomorrow (24/6), temperatures below 8°C are expected in the south of the Southeast and Center-West regions, in addition to the South Region. In the areas of southern Rondônia and Acre, the forecast indicates a drop in temperatures, favoring the occurrence of another episode of cold weather - the fourth recorded this year. In the early morning and early morning of June 24, there will be conditions for widespread frost formation in the three states of the South Region, with intensity ranging from moderate to strong between Serra Gaúcha, areas of Santa Catarina and southern Paraná. There is also a possibility of frost in southern Mato Grosso do Sul, in the southwest and south of São Paulo.

The drop in temperature is expected to be felt on June 25th in the southern part of Goiás; in the Triângulo Mineiro, Zona da Mata and southern Minas Gerais; and throughout the state of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to the southern part of Espírito Santo. Despite the cold weather and the forecast of light to moderate frost in the South on the same day, the cold air mass is gradually starting to lose intensity.

Figure 2 shows the forecast for accumulated rainfall, according to the Inmet Cosmo numerical model, indicating heavy rainfall in the north and west of the North and South regions, with volumes that may exceed 50 mm. Rainfall between 20 and 40 mm may occur in the eastern sector of the Northeast region, as well as in areas of the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. In the north of the Southeast and Central-West regions, in addition to the interior of the Northeast, the forecast is for clear weather, but light rain may occur in Rio de Janeiro, southern Goiás and Minas Gerais.

Na Northern Region, the greatest accumulations of rain will be concentrated in the north-central part of Amazonas, Roraima, and Amapá, with volumes that may exceed 50 mm. In specific areas of the northeast and west of Pará, volumes of less than 40 mm are expected. In Acre, Rondônia, and southern Amazonas, rainfall of less than 20 mm may occur. In Tocantins and southern Pará, there is no forecast of rain throughout the week.

Inside the North East Region There is no forecast of rain, with a reduction in relative humidity, mainly in the west of Bahia, as well as in the south of Piauí and Maranhão. In areas of the northeastern coast, rainfall above 20 mm (green tones) may occur, mainly in the states of Pernambuco and Alagoas.

in the regions Midwest e Southeast, the week begins with a forecast of less than 30 mm of rain in areas of the south of the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. The forecast is for clear weather in the northeast of Mato Grosso, north of Goiás, the Federal District, north-central Minas Gerais, part of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.

Na South, the week begins with the passage of a cold front, which should cause rain in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, in Santa Catarina and in Paraná, with volumes that can exceed 80 mm. Rain accumulations of less than 40 mm may also occur in the west of Rio Grande do Sul and north of Paraná.
