Good rainfall in September favors winter crops
Spectral data shows that conditions have been favorable in major wheat-producing regions
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released today (September 29) the weather forecast for the period from September 29 to October 6, marked by contrasts between regions of the country. While the South is expected to face heavy rains accompanied by lightning, gusts of wind and even hail, much of the Central-West, Southeast, Northeast and North regions will continue to experience dry weather and low relative humidity, in some areas below 30%.
Na Northern RegionAreas of instability are expected to be concentrated in the western portion of Amazonas, with volumes that could exceed 60 mm. Accumulated rainfall between 20 and 50 mm is forecast for specific areas of Amazonas, Roraima, and Acre. In contrast, in much of Pará, Tocantins, Amapá, and Rondônia, no rain is forecast throughout the week, and relative humidity is expected to decrease, potentially reaching levels below 30%.
In much of the North East Region There is no rain forecast, with relative humidity tending to decrease, especially in the southern portion of Maranhão, Piauí, and western Bahia, where values are below 30%. Meanwhile, in the coastal part of the region, rainfall amounts remain below 10 mm.
Na Midwest region, the forecast is for stable weather, with no rain in practically all states, except for Mato Grosso do Sul, where isolated showers are expected, without significant rainfall accumulations. Also noteworthy is the forecast for relative humidity below 30% throughout the Central-West region for the coming days, especially in Mato Grosso and western Mato Grosso do Sul.
For Southeast, the forecast indicates no rain for most states. Rainfall of up to 10 mm is expected throughout Espírito Santo and eastern Minas Gerais. Relative humidity is expected to fall below 30% in the coming days in the Triângulo Mineiro region, as well as in the north and west of São Paulo state.
For South, the week begins with the action of a trough—an extension of a low-pressure center—which favors the occurrence of rain showers that may be locally heavy, accompanied by lightning and gusts of wind, with the possibility of hail. Starting Sunday (05), the movement of a cold front will also cause rain showers in the southern states. Accumulated amounts above 60 mm are forecast for much of Rio Grande do Sul, eastern Santa Catarina, and extreme southern Paraná, and volumes of up to 50 mm in the south-central portion of Paraná. In southwestern Rio Grande do Sul and northern Paraná, accumulated amounts of up to 10 mm are forecast. Relative humidity is expected to be below 30% for northern Paraná over the next few days.
