Tocantins harvests 9,1 million tons of grain in 2024/25
The volume sets a new record in the State's historical series; soybeans, corn and rice are highlights
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) forecasts heavy rain in the south of the country for the week of September 15 to 21, with accumulations that could reach 200 mm in Rio Grande do Sul, while much of the Northeast and Center-West should face dry weather and low air humidity, in some places below 20%.
The combination of heat, high humidity and wind circulation favors the presence of areas of instability and the formation of heavy clouds in the Northern RegionThe highest rainfall volumes are expected in Amazonas, where up to 100 mm may fall during the period, and in Roraima, with up to 40 mm. In the states of Acre, Rondônia, Pará, and Amapá, rainfall is expected to be isolated and with low accumulations. In Tocantins, dry weather is forecast for most of the state, with only brief, localized showers possible in the western portion.
During the week, the weather should remain dry and without rain in much of the interior of the North East Region, particularly in western Bahia, southern Maranhão, much of Piauí, Ceará, and western Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte. In these areas, humidity may drop below 20%. On the other hand, rainfall is expected on the eastern coast, especially between Bahia and Alagoas, with accumulated rainfall reaching 30 mm during the period.
For Midwest regionIsolated rainfall is forecast, mainly in Mato Grosso, with volumes below 10 mm. Although the rainfall map does not indicate rain for the other states, the combination of mid-level humidity and thermodynamic indices could favor isolated showers between Wednesday and Thursday. The highlight remains low humidity, with values below 25%, especially in Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, the Federal District, and east-central Mato Grosso.
Na Southeast, the heaviest rainfall is expected to be concentrated in the east of the region, especially between Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, with accumulations of up to 20 mm. In western São Paulo and most of Minas Gerais, no significant rainfall is expected. In these areas, relative humidity is expected to remain low, below 30%.
Throughout this week, in SouthSignificant rainfall accumulations are expected, potentially reaching 200 mm, mainly in central and southern Rio Grande do Sul. In Santa Catarina and Paraná, forecast volumes are lower, around 40 mm. There is a risk of hail and strong gusts of wind on September 15th and 16th and September 09th and 18th, affecting Rio Grande do Sul and southern Santa Catarina. Furthermore, north-central Paraná is expected to experience relative humidity below 19%.
