BRS Jacundá cassava promises to triple productivity in Amazonas
Cultivar will be launched in October in Manaus and can strengthen the rural economy and food security in the state.
The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) released its weather forecast today (October 7) until October 13. According to the institute, significant rainfall is not expected in regions such as the North and Northeast, in contrast to the Central-West, Southeast, and South, which are expected to experience increased rainfall. Some areas of the country are also expected to experience low relative humidity, with levels reaching 25%.
Na Northern RegionAreas of instability are expected to be concentrated across much of the region, especially in Amazonas, Roraima, Acre, Rondônia, and western Pará, with volumes potentially exceeding 80 mm. In contrast, in much of Pará, Amapá, and northern Tocantins, only isolated rainfall is expected, with volumes around 10 mm. In much of Tocantins, no rain is forecast throughout the week, and relative humidity is expected to remain low, potentially reaching levels below 25%.
In much of the North East Region There is no rain forecast for this week. Furthermore, low relative humidity levels are expected, especially in Piauí, western Bahia, much of Ceará, western Paraíba, and Rio Grande do Norte, where values will be below 30%. Meanwhile, on the east coast of the Northeast region and in part of Maranhão, brief and localized rainfall is expected, with volumes remaining below 10 mm.
Na Midwest region, the forecast indicates increased rainfall in parts of the region throughout the week, especially in southern Mato Grosso do Sul and northwestern Mato Grosso. In these areas, forecast volumes should range between 20 mm and 50 mm. In other areas of the Central-West, low rainfall accumulations are expected, with quick and localized showers. Also noteworthy is the forecast for relative humidity below 30% during the week, especially in Goiás, the Federal District, and eastern Mato Grosso.
For Southeast, the forecast indicates increased rainfall for this week, especially in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and southern Minas Gerais. The advance of a cold front is expected to produce rainfall accumulations of up to 70 mm, especially in areas along the São Paulo-Paraná border. Localized thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds, and the possibility of hail cannot be ruled out. On the other hand, in northwestern Minas Gerais, the forecast calls for little rain and relative humidity below 30%.
For SouthThe week begins with the passage of a cold front, favoring the occurrence of rain showers that may be locally heavy, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. The highest rainfall accumulations throughout the week are forecast for Paraná, with volumes potentially exceeding 100 mm. Over the weekend, rain is expected to gain strength again in areas of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. In these areas, significant accumulations are also expected until October 13th, with volumes potentially exceeding 80 mm in central Rio Grande do Sul.
