The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) today concluded the weather forecast for the next two weeks. In the first, between the 10th and 17th of June, the week may present rainfall that could exceed 60 millimeters (orange tones), mainly in areas of the Northern Regions. This is due to the combination of heat and high humidity that continues to influence instability in the regions.

In the eastern part of the country, rainfall should benefit due to the transport of moisture from the ocean to the continent.

Forecast for the 1st week (10/06/2024 to 17/06/2024):

North region: The combination of heat and high humidity will cause rain showers throughout the week, with amounts greater than 60,0 millimeters (mm) in areas of central-north Amazonas and Pará, as well as in the states of Roraima and Amapá. In other areas, isolated rain showers with smaller accumulations cannot be ruled out.

Northeast Region: there is a forecast of rain in the eastern part of the region, especially between the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba and Pernambuco, as well as in areas of Sealba (areas of the states of Sergipe, Alagoas and Bahia). Instabilities in these areas are caused by the transport of moisture from the ocean to the continent, which will favor the occurrence of rainfall, which can exceed 40 mm. Isolated rain showers cannot be ruled out in areas of the northern range, from Maranhão to Rio Grande do Norte. While in the interior of the region, the forecast is for hot weather and no rain.

Midwest Regions e Southeast: hot and dry weather is forecast, but the occurrence of light and isolated rain in areas of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo cannot be ruled out.

South region: The week starts with good weather and no rain. But at the end of the week, from the 16th, there will be rain in the south of Rio Grande do Sul due to the passage of a frontal system.

Northeast Region: the forecast is for rain in the form of showers that could exceed 60 mm in the eastern part of the region. While in the northern part of the region, there is a forecast of rain with smaller accumulations. In the interior of the region, the forecast is for hot and dry weather.

Midwest and Southeast Regions: dry and hot weather continues to be forecast in most regions, except in areas of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where rapid and temporary rains may occur, with volumes of less than 40 mm.
