Inmet: weather forecast between July 28th and August 4nd

The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) forecast for the week of July 28 to August 4 indicates predominantly dry weather and low relative humidity across much of the country, especially in the Central-West, Southeast, and inland Northeast regions. The North and South are expected to experience the heaviest rainfall this week, with accumulated rainfall exceeding 80 millimeters in Amazonas and Rio Grande do Sul.

In the North Region, areas of instability will be concentrated in the extreme northwest and central Amazonas, with rainfall volumes that could exceed 60 mm, with the highest rainfall accumulations of around 80 mm in central Amazonas. In contrast, in the eastern portions of Rondônia, southern and eastern Amazonas, southern Pará, and Tocantins, no rainfall is forecast throughout the week. In these areas, the forecast indicates a reduction in relative humidity, which could reach levels below 30%, requiring special attention to the risk of fires.

In the interior of the Northeast region, no rain is forecast, with reduced relative humidity, particularly in southwestern Piauí, southern Maranhão, and western Bahia. Small areas of the northeastern coast may experience rainfall of over 20 mm, particularly along the coasts of Alagoas and Pernambuco.

In the Central-West region, the forecast indicates mostly stable weather, except in central and southern Mato Grosso do Sul, where volumes of up to 20 mm are expected. Also noteworthy is the forecast for relative humidity below 30% across the region in the coming days, particularly in south-central Goiás and most of Mato Grosso do Sul.

For the Southeast region, the forecast is for stable weather across most of the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, and Rio de Janeiro. Meanwhile, for most of São Paulo state, accumulated rainfall of up to 10 mm is expected over the coming days. Also noteworthy is the drop in relative humidity across much of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, with relative humidity forecast below 30% in southwestern Minas Gerais and northwestern São Paulo in the coming days.

For the Southern region, rainfall accumulations of up to 30 mm are forecast in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, with the highest volumes concentrated in the central and eastern portions of both states. In the state of Rio Grande do Sul, forecasts indicate rainfall volumes of 20 to 40 mm in areas of the Central-Eastern Rio Grande do Sul mesoregion and the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region. Significant rainfall volumes are also forecast in the Southwest and Southeast Rio Grande do Sul mesoregions, where rainfall accumulations of 50 to 80 mm are forecast, potentially exceeding 80 mm in the coming days.

Throughout the week, the forecast predicts high maximum temperatures for much of the North, Central-West, and western Northeast regions. The highest temperatures are expected in south-central Pará, Mato Grosso, and northern Mato Grosso do Sul, especially on August 1, where highs could exceed 34°C.

In the eastern coastal regions of the Northeast and in parts of the east of the Southeast and South Regions, maximum temperatures are expected to be below 30°C.
