Inmet: weather forecast between July 21th and 28th, 2025

Cold air mass drops minimum temperatures to below 10°C in the South and Southeast; RS is expected to record accumulations of up to 70 mm

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released today (21/7) the weather forecast for the week between July 21 and 28, 2025, highlighting the advance of a cold air mass through the South and Southeast of the country and rains concentrated on the northeastern coast and extreme north of the North Region.

Na Southern Region, the highest rainfall accumulations are forecast for the extreme south of Rio Grande do Sul, where volumes could reach 70 mm. In Santa Catarina and Paraná, accumulations range between 20 and 50 mm, especially in the central areas of both states. The rest of Rio Grande do Sul is expected to see lower volumes, between 20 and 40 mm.

The cold air mass advancing over the country throughout the week is expected to cause sharp drops in temperatures, especially between July 25th and 27th. Lows could drop below 10°C in the South, including Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. The cold is also expected to reach south-central Minas Gerais and São Paulo, with temperatures below 16°C.

Now at SoutheastThe weather remains stable, with light rainfall (up to 3 mm) expected only in eastern São Paulo and Minas Gerais. In Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, rainfall could reach 30 mm in coastal regions. In much of the region, relative humidity could drop below 40%, increasing the risk of wildfires.

No Midwest, the weather also remains dry, with humidity below 30% to 40% and no rain forecast, except in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, where volumes should not exceed 3 mm.

Na Northern Region, the highlight is northern Amazonas and the coast of Roraima, where rainfall of up to 80 mm is expected. On the other hand, areas such as Acre, Rondônia, and southern Pará and Tocantins are expected to remain without precipitation and with low humidity.

No Northeast, the coast of Maranhão and Alagoas may record rainfall above 20 mm, while the interior of the region remains without a forecast of rain and with humidity below 30%, mainly in the southwest of Piauí, south of Maranhão and west of Bahia.
