The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) concluded today (17/7) the weather forecast for the next two weeks. In the first, between the 17th and 24th of July, the largest accumulations are expected for the extreme north of the country, in addition to the east coast of Bahia and areas of the south and east of Paraná. See figure 1 (green and yellow tones on the map).

In the center of Brazil, the interior of the Northeast region and the south of the North, the forecast is for dry weather. See figure 1 (white and blue tones on the map).

Check out the detailed weather forecast for each region of Brazil for the next two weeks below.

Forecast for the 1st week (17/07/2023 to 24/07/2023):

North region: rain volume greater than 20 millimeters (mm) is forecast in the extreme north of the region, and may exceed 50 mm in areas of northwestern Amazonas and north-central Roraima due to the heat and high humidity. In Rondônia, Acre, Tocantins and the south of the region, the weather will be dry and without rain.

Northeast Region: forecast of cloudiness and passing rain across the entire coastal strip, mainly on the coast of Bahia, from 22/07, with possible accumulations greater than 50 mm. Due to the transport of moisture from the ocean, the Sealba region (area covering the states of Sergipe, Alagoas and northeastern Bahia) will have smaller accumulations. In Matopiba (an area that covers the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) and in the interior and north of the region, the forecast is for hot and dry weather.

Midwest and Southeast Regions: a mass of dry air will leave the weather stable and without rain, except in areas of Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, eastern São Paulo and Minas Gerais, where rainfall should be less than 30 mm. The Central-West Region and the west of Minas Gerais may also record low humidity.

South region: the forecast indicates rain in areas of Santa Catarina and Paraná, with accumulations of less than 40 mm. In Rio Grande do Sul and areas of northern Paraná, the weather will be dry and without rain.

In the second week, between July 25th and August 2nd, the forecast indicates large amounts of rain, greater than 50 mm, in areas of the South and Northwest of the country. See figure 2.

On the east coast, rain is expected to persist. In much of Central Brazil and the interior of the Northeast, dry weather without rain will predominate.

Forecast for the 2st week (25/07/2023 to 02/08/2023):

North region: forecast volume greater than 30 mm in practically the entire north of the region, possibly exceeding 50 mm in areas of northwestern Amazonas and Roraima. In southern areas of the region, rainfall should not be significant.

Northeast Region: Accumulated rainfall may exceed 20 mm in areas of the east coast and north coast of Maranhão. In areas of Matopiba (Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) and in the north and interior of the region, there is no rain forecast and the weather will remain stable and dry.

Midwest and Southeast Regions: dry weather forecast, except in Espírito Santo and south of São Paulo, where there is a possibility of rain.

South region: forecast of accumulated rainfall greater than 50 mm between the center and east of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and southern Paraná. In other areas, the volume must be less than 30 mm.
