Inmet: weather forecast between August 3th and 10th, 2026

The week of August 3rd to 10th will be marked by rain in the Southern Region and part of the Northern Region. According to the Meteorological Report released today (August 3rd) by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the Southern Region should receive the highest accumulations of the period, with rainfall volumes that could reach up to 80 mm in specific areas of Rio Grande do Sul. 

In the Northeast region, the highest rainfall totals are expected along the coastal strip, where accumulations could reach approximately 20 mm in some areas. In the North region, the highest rainfall is expected in the western part of the region, with localized accumulations of up to 80 mm in western Amazonas. In the Central-West region, the forecast indicates light rainfall, mainly in northwestern Mato Grosso and southern Mato Grosso do Sul, with accumulations around 10 mm. 

In the Southeast Region, the weather should remain predominantly stable, with the possibility of light rain in southern and eastern São Paulo, as well as northern Espírito Santo, where accumulations should not exceed 20 mm throughout the week.

In the Northern Region, the highest rainfall totals are expected in western Amazonas, with volumes that may exceed 80 mm in some areas throughout the week. On the coast of Pará, in Amapá, Roraima, and Acre, totals are expected to be around 7 mm. In other areas of the region, rainfall is expected to be relatively low, with totals of up to 5 mm throughout the week.

In the Northeast region, rainfall is expected to be concentrated along the coastal strip, particularly on the southern coast of Bahia and between Natal and Maceió, where accumulations could reach approximately 20 mm in some areas. In other coastal areas, accumulations are not expected to exceed 10 mm throughout the week. Conversely, no rain is forecast for the interior of the region.

In the Central-West Region, dry weather should prevail throughout the week in most of the region, including the Federal District and the state of Goiás. Rain is forecast only for areas in northwestern Mato Grosso and southern Mato Grosso do Sul, where accumulations should be around 10 mm.

In the Southeast Region, under the influence of a high-pressure system, the weather should remain stable throughout the week. However, rain is forecast in areas of southern and eastern São Paulo, especially on Friday (August 7th), with accumulations of up to 16 mm. In northern Espírito Santo, light rain is expected, with accumulations not expected to exceed 5 mm. In other areas of the region, the weather will be predominantly dry, with a low probability of rain.

In the Southern Region, the week begins with predominantly unstable weather across much of the region, due to the influence of a trough. Throughout the week, a frontal system will favor rainfall. The state of Rio Grande do Sul is particularly affected, with forecasts of storms and locally heavy rain, possibly including hail. The highest rainfall amounts are expected in Rio Grande do Sul, with accumulations of 50 mm on Tuesday (August 4th) and 40 mm on Wednesday (August 6th). Also on Wednesday, the state of Santa Catarina may experience rainfall with accumulations of up to 30 mm. For the remainder of the week, the rain will move towards Paraná, but its intensity will decrease and it is not expected to exceed 20 mm.
