The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released today (27) the weather forecast between January 27, 2025 and February 03, 2025. Figure 1 shows the forecast of accumulated rainfall, according to the Cosmo numerical model, indicating rain in almost the entire country, with accumulations during the week that may exceed 50 mm in the North, Central-West Regions, much of the Southeast and South Regions, in addition to the west of the Northeast Region (represented in shades of yellow and orange).
On the other hand, in Roraima, central-eastern Northeast, northern Southeast and southern Rio Grande do Sul, the tendency is for rainfall to occur with accumulations below 20 mm.
Na Northern Region, the instabilities associated with heat and high humidity will cause heavy rain throughout the week, with accumulations above 50 mm (green tones) in much of the region. Rainfall may exceed 80 mm (red to pink tones) in specific areas of northern Amazonas, western Pará and Amapá. On the other hand, in much of Roraima and northwestern Pará, rainfall accumulations are expected to be below 20 mm (blue areas).
Na North East Region, the forecast indicates rain in the center-west, with the possibility of accumulations above 50 mm in Maranhão, Piauí, western Bahia and northern Ceará. On the eastern coast of the Region, rainfall below 20 mm will occur. While in the central-eastern part of Bahia and the interior of Paraíba, Pernambuco, western Alagoas and Sergipe, the tendency is for rainfall with volumes below 10 mm.
Na Midwest region, the combination of heat and humidity will favor the persistence of areas of instability, providing rainfall throughout the region with accumulated amounts of between 30 and 60 mm. In addition, accumulated amounts above 80 mm are expected in specific areas of northeastern Mato Grosso, northeastern Mato Grosso do Sul and much of Goiás, and may exceed 150 mm in some locations (pink tones).
Na Southeast, the instability will cause rainfall with accumulations above 50 mm in São Paulo, west and south of Minas Gerais, in addition to the center-south of Rio de Janeiro, and may exceed 150 in some locations (pink tones). In the northeast of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, rainfall with accumulations below 10 mm is expected.
Na South, the combination of heat and humidity will favor the formation of instabilities, with precipitation accumulations above 50 mm in almost the entire region. In some areas of western Paraná, Santa Catarina and northern Rio Grande do Sul, accumulations may exceed 80 mm (red tones). In southern Rio Grande do Sul, accumulations will have lower volumes, with values below 20 mm.
