The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) published today (24) the weather forecast until March 03, 2025. According to the Cosmo numerical model, concentrated rains are expected in much of the Central-West, North and northwest regions of the Northeast. Accumulated rainfall during the week may exceed 80 mm in northwest Mato Grosso, south of Rondônia, south and northeast of Pará, north of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará.

On the other hand, in Roraima, a large part of the center-east of the Northeast Region, Southeast Region, east of Goiás and Rio Grande do Sul, the tendency is for rainfall to occur with accumulations below 20 mm.

Na Northern Region, the instabilities associated with heat and high humidity will maintain rain showers throughout the week, with accumulations above 50 mm (yellow tones) in much of the region, with the exception of Roraima, where rainfall will be scarcer, with volumes below 10 mm. The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) positioned further south will cause accumulations above 80 mm in the northeast of Pará.

Na North East Region, the action of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will favor precipitation in the north of Maranhão, Piauí and the coast of Ceará, with rainfall forecast above 80 mm (red tones). In the eastern strip of the region, rains may occur in isolated points in the form of showers, with accumulations of less than 20 mm, while in the central part of Bahia, Pernambuco, western Piauí and Alagoas, the trend is for stable weather in the coming days.

Na Midwest region, the combination of heat and humidity maintains areas of instability in Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and western Goiás, with heavy rain throughout the week. Accumulations above 80 mm are forecast for northwest Mato Grosso, while in central-eastern Goiás and eastern Mato Grosso do Sul, there is a tendency for reduced rainfall, with accumulations below 20 mm.

Na Southeast, the trend is for stable weather in much of Minas Gerais. Rain showers may occur in Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in a sporadic manner, with volumes below 40 mm, but they may be locally intense due to the instability generated by the combination of heat and humidity. On the other hand, in the southeast of São Paulo, volumes above 60 mm are expected.

A South, starts the week with stable weather in almost the entire region, however, the tendency is for increased cloudiness and rain showers from Wednesday onwards. According to the model, accumulated rainfall may be below 30 mm, however the combination of heat and humidity may cause locally intense rains, in the form of storms.
