Indigo, a technology company that develops biological products and credit solutions with the aim of promoting more sustainable agriculture, announces the launch of its line of high-performance biological products in Latin America. Called biotrinsic, the new line encompasses six products focusing on soybeans and corn, and highlights biotrinsic simplex, the only one on the market that contains Bacillus simplex, a microorganism that promotes plant growth even in stressful situations such as lack of of rain.

For the CEO of LATAM and CBO of Indigo, Dario Maffei, the launch of the new brand gains even greater importance at a time like the current one, when Brazilian crops suffer from various types of stress, especially drought. “With the biotrinsic line, rural producers have yet another sustainable solution option to improve plant efficiency and, thus, increase productivity even in adverse environments”, he comments.

Maffei also points out that the biological inputs market continues to be strategic for the startup in Latin America in 2022. “There is research that indicates the growth of the biological inputs market by more than 70% in the next four years and the country must follow this growth. In Brazil, for example, in 2021 we reached more than one million hectares with the coverage of our solutions, a number almost three times greater than in 2020. For this year, we hope to surpass two million hectares in Brazil and the launch of the brand is one of our bets”, he states.

Also present in Argentina, Indigo's LATAM operation is currently the company's global highlight in the sale of organic products.

Biologicals in the field

Indigo has a collection of cataloged beneficial microorganisms that have the ability to protect crops from different types of abiotic and biotic stresses, ranging from extreme temperatures and water scarcity to nutrient-deficient soils and disease control.

One of the highlights of the biotrinsic line in Brazil is the arrival of the exclusive Bacillus simplex, a biostimulant microorganism that promotes plant growth. Its main difference is that it provides plants with greater tolerance to situations of water stress, allowing crops to develop with less water required. The microorganism is used in the product biotrinsic simplex, a biostimulant and inoculant (product with a large quantity of microorganisms beneficial to crops) intended for corn and soybean crops, which obtained MAPA registration in Brazil last year.

“In 2021, during the testing process for product registration, carried out in the Central-West region during the corn harvest, we obtained as a result in areas treated with simplex an increase of 12,5% in root weight, 14 centimeters in root length and 18% root mass, which guaranteed productivity of up to 10 more bags per hectare in areas that were impacted by drought,” explains Reinaldo Bonnecarrere, agronomist, doctor in crop physiology and LATAM director of Indigo biological products.

The official launch of the biotrinsic line takes place during Tecnoshow Comigo, which will be held in Rio Verde (GO) until April 8th. Interested parties will be able to purchase the line's products through Indigo's commercial team and business partners throughout Brazil.
