Indigo, a technology startup that develops solutions based on innovation and sustainability for agriculture, announces the promotion of CFO Latam, Cristiano Pinchetti, as the company's new CEO for Latin America. Among the executive's challenges in the new position are expanding the customer base and the volume of hectares that make use of the company's biological products, as well as offering a greater range of services to customers in Latin America, based on the expansion of our portfolio with the inclusion of new solutions.
Cristiano will report directly to Dario Maffei, former CEO Latam and current Chief Business Officer of Indigo, who, during the announcement of the company's move, highlighted the work carried out by CFO Latam. “Cristiano is a respected CFO in the financial market and has strong leadership and elaboration skills, a high-performance mentality and a track record of tireless execution. As CEO Latam, he will add great value to our team and help us navigate the next phases of Indigo’s development,” says Maffei.
Pinchetti joined Indigo in 2019 as CFO Brazil and, in less than a year, was promoted to the position of CFO Latam and Vice President of International Finance. One of the executive's greatest successes was the structuring of Indigo Ag Finance, one of the company's main solutions in Latin America, which aims to simplify access to credit for rural producers, allowing the financing of seeds, biological products and fertilizers, with the payment option only within the harvest period. Indigo Ag Finance was the first structured product launched outside the headquarters in the United States and ended 2021 with a total amount of investments above R$350 million in Brazil.
"Throughout my career, I have worked to promote structural improvements that could provide sustainable growth for the companies where I worked. Here at Indigo, I managed to become an agent of transformation by helping the company's structuring process in Latin America, leading us to achieve consistent results which now result in the new challenge of further expanding this growth and expanding the portfolio of solutions through new products and services”, says Pinchetti.
To consolidate the operation in Brazil and Latin America, Indigo's next step will be the launch of the local version of Market+, Indigo's grain marketplace, scheduled to take place in 2022. "Indigo will start the pilot in Brazil this quarter. We are analyzing several points to ensure that the platform meets the country's needs", comments Cristiano.
Now available in the United States, Market+ allows producers and buyers to digitize the grain negotiation process through an online platform, optimizing and simplifying the production marketing process.
Cristiano worked for 2 years as CFO Latam at Helm Ag. Before that, he worked for companies such as Nextel and Monsanto do Brasil, a multinational in the area of agriculture and biotechnology, where he held several important positions such as international treasurer, based in Geneva, Switzerland . Now, as Latam CEO of Indigo, Cristiano proves the ability to identify, develop and execute opportunities to improve revenue and customer service offerings in Latin America.
Cristiano Pinchetti has a degree from Faculdade Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) in Business Administration, and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from the University of São Paulo (USP).
