In São Paulo, corn planting is advancing in 70% of the designated area, following the soybean harvest, according to an analysis by Tarken, a Brazilian agritech that offers a marketplace for grain trading. The crops are in emergence and vegetative development, with the climate contributing to the establishment of the crops.
According to analyst Thiago Carvalho, without many active buyers, the physical corn market is falling sharply, taking the bag to R$96,50 in Campinas.
“Reflecting the domestic market and the international scenario, futures on B3 recorded strong losses. As a result, sales pressure from producers continues, with over-the-counter prices falling sharply in the state”, says Carvalho.
Minas Gerais
Market with a lot of speculation and few active negotiations in Minas Gerais. The value of corn continues to decline in Minas Gerais, but buyers remain firm with their stocks, waiting for the harvest to intensify in around 15 days.
According to analyst Bernardo Lopes, the main values in the state were around R$88 in Barbacena, as well as R$90 in Uberlândia. Buyers with better cash flow and ability to operate in the market try prices between 3 and 4 reais below the published prices.
“As for the climate, the rains continue in low volume and causing a beginning of tension in producers who have already planted safrinha corn”, analyzes Lopes.
Chicago Stock Exchange
In the Northeast, in general, the price of corn has been falling by 4 percentage points, reflecting the positive movements also seen on the Chicago Stock Exchange and B3.
In the state of Maranhão, according to the Tarken quotation, prices have an average of R$83 per bag from Balsas to São Luís. Very similar to the prices seen in Piauí, which also has corn running at R$82,40 in Uruçuí.
In Fortaleza, Ceará and Recife, Pernambuco, the Tarken price points to R$93,70.
In the region of Barreiras and Luís Eduardo in Bahia, with a large production hub, there are lower prices, around R$81 per bag.
