Of the total exported by the State of Goiás in February 2021, 66,6% were agricultural products. This is what the data released this Friday (05/03) by Comex Stat of the Ministry of Economy and compiled by the Market Intelligence Management of the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) reveal. According to the information, there were 242,32 million dollars in agricultural exports.

The meat complex represented 45,96% of the total exported by the sector, totaling 111,37 million dollars. Among the complex's products, beef was the highlight, with more than 80,04 million dollars, resulting in 33,03% of total agricultural exports. The soybean complex was responsible for 29,04% of what was exported by agriculture in February, with 70,38 million dollars. The sugar and alcohol complex and leather accounted, respectively, for 7,95% (19,27 million dollars) and 6,21% (15,03 million dollars) of agricultural exports last month.

Accumulated

In relation to the year to date, that is, in the months of January and February 2021, agriculture contributed 62,97% of total exports in Goiás, with 465,66 million dollars. The meat complex accounts for 45,92% of the total exported in these months, with 213,81 million dollars. Meanwhile, the soybean complex was responsible for 21,28%, with 99,08 million dollars.

According to the head of Seapa, Antônio Carlos de Souza Lima Neto, agriculture has maintained, in 2021, positive results in the State's total exports, just as it was in 2020. “We are still at the beginning of the year, with the soybean harvest and the planting of safrinha corn in activity, but the numbers already show the importance of the sector. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the situation remains critical for several segments and it is agriculture that has strengthened the country's economy”, he emphasizes.

Antônio Carlos explains that exports represent more than numbers. “With a greater volume of exports, we have more incentive to create jobs, generate income and develop the municipalities. Several chains benefited and not just the segment within the gate. We need to understand this, because if agriculture is strengthened, the gains will be in industry, commerce and throughout society”,
