Ihara launched this Thursday, 07/10, the Hayate insecticide, indicated for use against difficult-to-control caterpillars. With the active ingredient Cyclaniliprole, the product causes insect feeding paralysis, which helps reduce the pest population.

Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera frugiperda among the insecticide targets, in soybeans and corn. Ihara's product manager, Felipe Sulzbach, recalled that the product's mode of action helps both in managing resistance and also in increasing productivity, since applications at the beginning of the infestation provide a reduction in the insect's population and, consequently, less pressure on the culture. Furthermore, the insecticide has a good degree of selectivity, which helps to preserve important natural enemies to maintain balance in cultivation areas.

The brand also has the Maxsan insecticide, launched in 2019, to control sucking insects such as whiteflies and bedbugs. Ihara also offers Convince, which protects the initial phase of plants against pests such as the elasmo caterpillar and is easy to use, both in industrial and on-farm seed treatment.

Ihara also launched its biofungicide Romeo SC, a microbial elicitor, with the active ingredient Cerevisane, recommended for controlling Asian rust, a fungal disease that is one of the worst nightmares for soybean producers. According to Ihara's Biological Products Manager, Alexandre Alves, this is the first in a line that the brand plans to launch soon and which includes bionematicides and insecticides based on essential oils. “In the coming years we will be a protagonist in the biological market”, he said.

Herbicide

For weed management, Ihara relies on the pre-emergent herbicide Kyojin, which acts against crow's foot grass, horseweed and digitaria, among other vegetation that compete with agricultural crops. With active ingredient Pyroxasulfone + Flumioxazine, the product can be used on crops such as soybeans, corn and wheat.

Ihara's Crop Marketing Manager, Rodrigo Lima, highlighted that the brand is the main platform for Brazilian farmers to access agricultural products developed in Japan.
