Ihara, a research and development company specialized in agricultural pesticides, has just launched Romeo SC, a solution to help farmers from the North to the South of the country in combating one of the most feared diseases that causes irreversible damage to soybean crops. The company's new biological fungicide has an unprecedented mode of action in Brazil, which acts preventively, activating the plant's natural defense systems and, thus, maximizing crop protection against rust. Romeo SC arrives on the market to add to the management of this disease, being fully compatible with other chemical and biological products.
"The market for solutions with biological active ingredients is growing more and more. It is possible to observe that there is a new behavior among consumers who prefer products of natural origin aiming at sustainability and profitability. Therefore, we brought together the main phytopathologists in the country to develop research to create an efficient and, at the same time, sustainable biochemical", says Biological Products Marketing Manager, Alexandre Alves.
When Romeo SC is applied to soybean leaves, its active ingredient is recognized by specific receptors, which send several messages to the plant. This new technology brings a molecule that stimulates physical and biochemical mechanisms inside the soybean plant, the process making it stronger and more resistant to attack by Asian rust.
The formulation of this new solution allows Romeo SC to increase crop protection by approximately four times and has high compatibility for application with other chemical or biological products on the market. It is recommended that Ihara's new technology always be applied in partnership with other fungicides directly on the plant leaf, in a preventive manner, and must occur within 14 days.
"Ihara believes in the sustainability of Brazilian agriculture and, in line with this positioning, we are investing heavily in research and development of new biological solutions and Romeo SC is the first product in a series that will come to the market in the coming years" says the manager General Manager of Marketing at Ihara, Andre Nannetti.
