ICL, a company that uses its exclusive resources and technological capacity to develop impactful solutions in plant nutrition and physiology, launches in Brazil PotashpluS, a soil fertilizer that contains Polysulphate and, associated with Potassium Chloride, provides Potassium to crops, as well as Sulfur , Calcium and Magnesium present in Polysulphate. The product, imported from the ICL unit in the United Kingdom, contains 50% Polysulphate powder and 50% Potassium Chloride powder in a single granule.

“In general, producers already apply Potassium Chloride to their crops with the aim of supplying Potassium to the crop. With PotashpluS, it will continue to do this to meet this demand, but it will take other nutrients such as Sulphur, Calcium and Magnesium with an excellent distribution, which will even improve its operational activity. Because nutrient concentrations are balanced, there is also a synergistic effect on their absorption”, explains Thiago Sylvestre, Soil Fertilizers Manager at ICL.

PotashpluS is recommended for the most diverse crops, in order to meet the nutritional demand for Potassium, Sulfur, Calcium and Magnesium. “The recommendation must be made by an agronomist depending on the extraction and export of the crop, as well as the expected productivity, in order to meet nutritional demand”, informs Sylvestre. The product is applied in batches.

Innovation Centers

ICL conducts several trials at its innovation centers in Iracemápolis (SP) and Cruz alta (RS), accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) as research institutions in the country. Accreditation allows the use of research results generated in the innovation center for the registration of new products. According to MAPA's list of private research institutions, the company is the only one that operates exclusively in the area of Plant Nutrition and Physiology to have an accredited research center.

This year, the company was recognized once again as one of the 150 most innovative companies in the country in the Valor Inovação Brasil 2022 Award, being among the Top 5 in the agribusiness category for the second consecutive time, in its second year of participation.

ICL invests U$64 million globally in research and development. In Brazil, it was R$20 million in 2021, which solidifies its position as one of the most innovative and technological companies in the sector.
