​Ibrafe participates in international events at the UN

The Brazilian Bean production chain will be represented internationally this week. The President of the Brazilian Institute of Beans & Pulses (Ibrafe), Marcelo Eduardo Lüders will give two important lectures outside the country. The first will be on Wednesday (12), at the Global Pulse Conference, in Vancouver, Canada and the second, on Thursday (13), at the Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in New York. Production volume of Beans and Pulses in Brazil, marketing and import and export needs will be among the topics covered at the two large meetings.

This representation, in the main international entities linked to the cultivation of Beans and Pulses and global food, demonstrates the strengthening of the chain and is a reflection of all the joint efforts in favor of the main food consumed in the country.

“Being able to show the world how much Brazil has evolved in the cultivation of beans is very important. The growing interest in research, innovation and planting in Brazil, the new cultivar varieties presented at the last Bean Forum and other initiatives that Ibrafe has been supporting should contribute to helping food in other countries as well.", declared Lüders.

INTERNATIONAL PULSES DAY

The sustainability of food production will be one of the topics discussed at the High-Level Political Forum at FAO in New York. Lüders will be the speaker appointed by the Global Pulse Confederation and will defend the role of beans and pulses in achieving sustainable development goalsble and the importance of World Pulses Day, so that all the benefits that these foods bring are highlighted.

“Feeding the world is one of the UN's greatest concerns, as hunger is one of the main causes of immigration and social imbalances. Looking at this scenario by creating sustainable solutions is extremely necessary. Ibrafe sees in Feijão a viable alternative to help provide global nutrition", said the president of Ibrafe.
