Ministry of Agriculture makes official Irga on opening the Mexican market to Brazilian rice
This year, the volume of Brazilian rice authorized to enter Mexico with zero tariffs increased from 30 thousand to 75 thousand tons
One of the most modern research centers for compliance studies focused on personal protective equipment (PPE) in agriculture, the IAC-Quepia program laboratory hopes to obtain, in the second half of this year, its international 'Accreditation' certificate. This is a scientific recognition of high qualification, resulting from the already advanced performance of proficiency tests on site. With the document, Quepia will consolidate its leading position in studies focused on ISO standards.
Coordinator of IAC-Quepia and one of the most respected scholars in the field of agrochemicals, researcher Hamilton Ramos highlights that, upon obtaining international accreditation, the Jundiaí research center will become recognized among the few laboratories in the world capable of carrying out more than 20 quality tests that make up the ISO 27065 standard.
According to Ramos, almost R$1 million has already been invested in the Jundiaí laboratory in recent years, through public-private partnerships. The site occupies an area of 300 square meters. A team of professionals specialized in Research, Development and Innovation of methods works to assess worker exposure to agrochemicals and the quality of protective clothing and its components.
The IAC-Quepia program results from partnerships between the private sector and the Engineering and Automation Center (CEA), of the Agronomic Institute (IAC), an agency of the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of SP. Close to completing 15 years, the initiative has undertaken dozens of studies on agricultural protective clothing and protective gloves, in addition to certifying the quality of these products with the IAC-Quepia Seal, today recognized as a synonym of quality and credibility for manufacturers of agricultural PPE.
