IAC showcases horticulture solutions at Hortitec 2025

The Agronomic Institute (IAC) of Campinas will be present at Hortitec 2025, which will take place from June 25 to 27, in Holambra (SP). At the stand located in the blue sector (62/63), the IAC will present its latest cultivars of sweet potato, cassava and potato, as well as technologies aimed at horticulture and plant health.

Among the highlights is the orange-fleshed sweet potato cultivar IAC Dom Pedro II, considered biofortified due to its high levels of beta-carotene (up to 77 micrograms per gram of fresh pulp), a substance that is transformed into vitamin A in the body. The new variety surpasses the main cultivars in use in the State of São Paulo in terms of productivity, with an average yield of 67,18 tons per hectare.

During the fair, the Institute will also hold a “Chat with the IAC” on June 25, from 13:30 p.m. to 15:30 p.m. The event will feature product tastings and presentations on topics such as indoor cultivation, the use of drones in horticulture, and the activities of the Quarantine Station, an IAC unit accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture for phytosanitary analysis of imported plants.

The actions are part of IAC's effort to expand access to technologies developed by its researchers, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and food security.
