A series of launches that will deliver innovation to the South American horticultural sector will be presented by Sakata, a Japanese seed multinational, during the 29th edition of Hortitec, the largest horticultural fair in South America, which will take place from June 19th to 21st, in Holambra (SP).

At the company's stand, visitors will see varieties that combine high productivity, disease resistance and adaptation to different climatic and soil conditions, providing greater profitability and sustainability in the field. These innovations meet not only the needs of producers, but also consumers, who are looking for better quality vegetables in terms of appearance, texture and flavor, with more nutrients and longer post-harvest storage time.

According to Paulo Koch, Marketing Director at Sakata, one of the company's main differentiators is the large investment in research and product development. “Sakata’s main focus is to adapt its varieties to tropical conditions, also considering regional particularities, including the type of climate, soil and local cultivation. A strategy that is fundamental given the advancement of horticulture and the growing demands of the market, which impose challenges on companies in the sector, especially with regard to the genetic complexity of their products to meet both the specific needs of the producer in the field and the preferences consumer at the end of the chain”, emphasizes the director.
