Bayer presents integrated solutions for fruits and vegetables at the 27th Hortitec
Company will present news focused on the areas of crop protection and fruit and vegetable seeds
“LS Tractor’s DNA has its origins in horticulture, as South Korea is strong in this activity. In Brazil, this sector generates billions of reais, occupying production areas in almost the entire national territory. Because of this interrelationship, the Brazilian factory began to offer mechanization solutions for the segment, producing models with different versions ranging from 25, 40,50, 65 and 80 horsepower and even models reaching 145 hp, which perfectly serve this agribusiness. This is why they earned the name of HortifrutiTratores”, explains the marketing and sales manager at LS Tractor Brasil, Astor Kilpp. He adds that the vast majority of this market is made up of family farmers, with small areas, but there are also medium and large producers.
As Kilpp explains, LS tractors have technological differences such as 32 forward and 16 reverse speed transmission, reaching up to 40 forward and 40 reverse, with super reducer and Synchro Shuttle or Power Shuttle reversal system, which will make the speed available accuracy for carrying out each task in the field. The reversal makes it easier to maneuver, especially in confined spaces and in activities where the tractor needs to make constant reversals of direction. The LS Tractor's technological package provides reduced fuel consumption, as already tested and approved in the field by several customers.
The tractors also have a high clearance, which favors operation on construction sites, a smaller turning radius for greater agility in maneuvering and a creeper that provides versatility for the tractor to perform, more economically, the various operations required in HF production. Independent power take-off with three options, 540, 750 and 1.000 rpm, an ideal speed for each task with implements driven by PTO, four-cylinder diesel engine from the LS brand with Mar1/Tier3 technology, for models up to 65 horsepower. In 2019, Perkins engines were incorporated into models from 80 to 145 hp. All these sets of technologies are focused on offering excellent torque and low consumption.
Controlling the various activities that are carried out simultaneously on the farm and evaluating in detail what needs to be improved, which the producer cannot do just by observing, is one of the advantages of having the Telemetry system installed on the tractor. This is because it is what will generate precious information about the machine's daily activities, such as fuel consumption, the speed at which it is being operated in its function, the condition of the engine, among others. “It’s a very valuable field machine management tool,” says Kilpp. He adds that the electronic engine protection system is also part of the technological package, which transmits to the producer or operator an alert against overheating and lack of lubricating oil, thus avoiding an unwanted problem in its operation that, at times, causes great damage. with maintenance when an event of this nature occurs.
Within this line of Tech products, LS also sells the automatic pilot, which ensures that operations are carried out more efficiently and thoroughly, such as, for example, better alignment of planting lines, more precise spraying, reduced crushing of plants and other processes that contribute to increased production. With the LS Tech portfolio these technologies are available for small and medium-sized tractors.
A customer of the LS Tractor brand for two years, the couple Silvio and Thelma Trintin are lettuce producers in the city of Socorro, SP. They plant various vegetables in two bushels, on average, usually rented. According to Thelma, the idea of looking for a tractor was to meet the needs of this crop and they found in the U60 model all the tools they needed for the job. The regional sales coordinator, Rodrigo Silva, highlights that the tractor for this activity has three speeds on the power take-off, namely *540, 750 economical and 1000 RPM*, with activation through an automatic key, with two functions, manual and independent. This allows the producer to work with low fuel consumption, (30% less on average) polluting the environment less and generating greater profitability in addition to being ergonomically comfortable for its operators.
“The hydraulic system has the lift o matic to raise and lower the three-point axle in the pre-established measure for the work, providing greater agility in maneuvers”, reports Silva. He also says that the tractor has an armored axle, with greater durability and reliability for the most diverse operations and a 32-speed transmission, providing correct speed x fuel economy. “It is a model that, due to its characteristics, has become very popular with horticulturists”, he concludes.
