Project expands sources of funding for research at Embrapa
According to the project, new resources may come from the commercial exploitation of technologies, products – including protected cultivars –, services and rights to use brands
Next month, between the 03rd and 07th of February, Paraná will host one of the main agricultural fairs in the country, the Show Rural Coopavel. Reaching its 32nd edition, the event takes place annually in Cascavel and, in 2019, brought together 520 exhibitors and generated around R$2,2 billion during the five days.
This year, the Hexagon Agriculture Division, with headquarters and factory in Florianópolis (SC), will be present, together with Pulverjet, bringing some solutions developed for agriculture. “At Hexagon, we develop embedded technologies for tractor and implement manufacturers, with the aim of transforming them into true technological tools for agricultural efficiency. After all, this is our mission as a company: to prepare the agricultural industry to achieve greater productivity”, explains Bernardo de Castro, president of Hexagon's agricultural vertical.
The highlight that will be presented at the Rural Show will be the HxGN AgrOn Machine Monitoring, which integrates detailed monitoring of machines and fleets with the information management system. The product records the position of the machine and the activity being carried out, providing detailed reports on performance indicators and machinery behavior, such as productivity, area worked, distance traveled and speed.
Another product that will be displayed at the fair will be the AgrOn Autopilot, whose function is to assist the navigation of tractors, agricultural and forestry machines and implements; in addition to ensuring route alignment with an accuracy of up to two centimeters. The route can be planned directly from the office. This way, it is possible to maximize field resources, significantly reduce soil compaction and increase production times. The AgrOn Control Room will also be taken to Paraná. The system has different modules to cover all field processes, with four specific modules dedicated to remote operations management: Soil Preparation, Planting, Cultivation and Harvest. “With these technologies, the result is better machinery performance and greater productivity and profitability”, details Castro.
During the Coopavel Rural Show, Hexagon will share space with one of its partners, Pulverjet. Having been manufacturing self-propelled vehicles for over 25 years, the manufacturer is adept at using HxGN AgrOn platform solutions in its machinery. Executive Marcelo Variza, director of Pulverjet, says that the company approached Hexagon after verifying a deficiency in the GPS controllers of its implements. The problem generated high costs for after-sales service and technical visits in the field. It was then that the company decided to look for technologies on the national market that were ready to be installed on its machines. “In addition to a quality product, the challenge was finding the necessary technology for the manufacturer's sprayers to gain market value,” says Variza. The result was a 95% reduction in costs for after-sales technical support in the field after investing in technologies embedded in tractors and agricultural implements.
