The brand's performance in January once again surpassed that of the Brazilian and South American industry
The heat wave that is affecting much of the state of Rio Grande do Sul is expected to continue until at least next Monday (10), at 20 pm, according to the new red warning of great danger issued today (5) by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). The tendency is for thermometers in the region to exceed 40°C.
The areas most affected by the high temperatures are the entire metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, the southwest, west, southeast and northeast of the state. In this period, only on Friday (7) the temperatures could become milder, around 29°C in the capital, according to the weather forecast, but with a high thermal sensation.
A heat wave is characterized when the maximum temperature remains, for a period of more than five days, above the climatological average of 5°C. The heat in Rio Grande do Sul has been increasing in recent days.
According to Inmet, the heat wave in Rio Grande do Sul has been worsening due to the lack of regular rainfall in the northern part of Argentina and in the center-west of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, increasing the incidence of solar radiation that contributes to rising temperatures in the region.
This pattern of lower rainfall and cloudiness in the region is explained by the combination of factors, such as the South Atlantic Convergence Zone (SACZ), Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), Upper Level Cyclonic Vortex (ANVC) and La Niña systems.
The heat wave is also expected to hit, between Saturday (8) and Monday (10), greater Florianópolis, the south and north of Santa Catarina, as well as the Itajaí Valley.
The orange danger warning was issued by Inmet this Wednesday (5) and also reaches areas of Rio Grande do Sul.
