Harvest of the second corn crop begins

Even with the start of the second harvest in important producing regions, such as Mato Grosso and Paraná, corn prices showed slight increases last week in most regions monitored by Cepea.

According to researchers, support came from the firm stance of sellers, who were attentive to greater export parity. Demanders preferred to wait for better opportunities as the harvest progressed, a scenario that limited liquidity.

In ports, prices also increased, influenced by dollar and foreign appreciation.
