A reference in agrarian economics, specialist Felippe Cauê Serigati, researcher and spokesperson for Fundação Getulio Vargas (GV Agro), is part of the panel of speakers at the 24th International Congress of the Wheat Industry, which takes place between the 22nd and 24th of October this year , at the Hotel Royal Palm Plaza, in Campinas, São Paulo.
The panel A Força dos Moinhos, which also gives its name to the 2017 edition of the congress, will debate how the current situation affects the return of agents working in agro-industrial chains, such as wheat. "Several phenomena have caught the attention of economic analysts, for example, why has the IBOVESPA persistently broken records and the exchange rate tested increasingly low levels amidst so much political turbulence? Is it just a coincidence that prices of various commodities on the international market are also on an upward trajectory?", says Serigati.
GV Agro, in partnership with ABITRIGO, will present a complete x-ray of the sector through two major variables: the composition of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the evolution of the labor market associated with this production chain.
The congress, held annually by the Brazilian Wheat Industry Association (ABITRIGO), is today one of the most important events in Brazilian agribusiness, which brings together representatives from the food industry and government, producers and millers to openly discuss issues that challenge the entire cereal chain. It is the ideal stage to propose paths for issues related to regulation, financing, cultivation, healthiness, among others.
