The total estimated gross revenue for the main Brazilian crops in the current year will reach the equivalent of R$ 868,96 billion, a value that was calculated taking as a reference the physical volume and the respective average prices of the products to be received by farmers of the 17 main Brazilian crops, whose data were collected and studied from January to April 2023.

Based on the data from this study, if a ranking is prepared in descending order of the five products that presented the highest estimated revenue, the following would be: soybeans, in first place, with R$ 368,85 billion, a value that is equivalent to 42,4 .156,27% of the total crops surveyed; secondly, corn stands out with R$18 billion (107,87%); in third place comes sugar cane with 12,4 billion (52,53%); next, in fourth, coffee with R$6 billion (31,51%), and, in fifth, cotton with R$3,6 billion, whose value corresponds to XNUMX% of the total value of the crops surveyed.

In relation to the estimated revenue of Cafés do Brasil, the main focus of this analysis, it is worth highlighting that in 2023 the exclusive gross revenue of Arabica coffee is expected to reach the amount of R$41,3 billion, which is equivalent to 78,6% of the of the national coffee sector. And, additionally, the revenue from conilon coffee will be R$ 11,2 billion, a value that represents approximately 21,4% of the total of R$ 52,5 billion, mentioned above, which obviously includes both species.

The data and numbers that support this analysis for dissemination in the Coffee Observatory were extracted from the Gross Value of Production - VBP April/2023, a document that is prepared and published monthly by the Agricultural Policy Secretariat – SPA, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – Map since 2005. Such editions, from July 2014, also became available at the Coffee Observatory of the Consórcio Pesquisa Café, coordinated by Embrapa Café.

Thus, based on the data from this Gross Production Value - VBP on screen, if a ranking of the coffee farming revenue of the five largest coffee-producing Brazilian states is established, it is noted that Minas Gerais occupies first place with R$ 30,43 billion, which is equivalent to approximately 58% of total revenue, followed by Espírito Santo with R$10,61 billion (20,2%). In third place comes the state of São Paulo with estimated revenue of R$ 5,11 billion (9,7%), in fourth, Bahia with R$ 2,62 billion (5%), and, finally, Rondônia, which has gross revenue from coffee farming estimated at R$ 2,14 billion, an amount that corresponds to 4% of the estimate of the VBP of Cafés do Brasil in 2023.

As a complement to this analysis, it is also appropriate to highlight the percentage share of the VBP of coffee, aggregating the states of the five Brazilian geographic regions. Thus, it appears that the Southeast Region, with revenue of R$46,5 billion, stands out with a share of 88,5% of the total; and, next, comes the Northeast Region with R$2,63 billion (5%); North Region – R$2,23 billion (4,2%); South Region – R$740 million (1,4%); and, finally, the Central-West Region, whose revenue was estimated at R$427,4 million, will have an amount less than 1% of total revenue.
