Producers from Paraná begin planting their second corn crop
With the soybean harvest expected to begin in the first half of January, corn planting should intensify across the state
The Department of Agriculture and Supply, through the Agricultural Defense Coordination (CDA), informs citrus producers that the cancer/HLB (Greening) report must be delivered by January 15th. The report must be sent through the computerized Animal and Plant Defense Management system (Gedave) and must contain the results of quarterly inspections for citrus canker and greening carried out between July 1st and December 31st, 2023 on all citrus plants on the property .
"The information provided in the report is not used in a punitive manner. It is necessary to guide Agricultural Defense actions and guide the State's public policies, always thinking about guaranteeing the health sustainability of São Paulo's agribusiness. Therefore, it is important that producers fill out the report actually declaring the results of the inspections", comments agricultural engineer Alexandre Paloschi, director of the Department of Health Defense and Plant Inspection.
“Furthermore, with the intensification of actions to combat Greening, the report will be extremely important for Agricultural Defense, as it is a tool for diagnosing the conditions of existing orchards in the State, and the more accurate the information, the better it will be. the results”, he concludes.
With the publication of Ordinance Mapa No. 317, of May 21, 2021, which establishes the National HLB Prevention and Control Program (PNCHLB), the elimination of symptomatic plants became mandatory only for orchards under eight years of age. Psyllid control is mandatory in all orchards, regardless of age. In the State of São Paulo, delivery of the report is mandatory for all producers, regardless of the age of the plants.
