At a time when the country is encouraging social distancing measures, in addition to avoiding unnecessary travel, Granular, a digital agriculture company acquired by Corteva Agriscience in 2017, found a way to contribute to the work of rural producers who need to go to the field to monitor their crops. Throughout the month of April, the Granular Insights tool will be available for access by producers who have this need on their properties. Recently launched in Brazil, the solution allows direct monitoring in the field to identify changes in crops.

“At a time when some farmers are not receiving visits, representatives and distributors are reducing personal interactions, Granular Insights allows you to monitor crops remotely, share information with trusted partners, and direct monitoring of those present in the field - to solve problems and make a decision when there is still time – which can be of great contribution to agriculture”, explains Lucas Melo, Marketing Leader at Granular in Brazil.

To have access to all Granular Insights features, producers must register and create their property in the tool, which is available through the website (br.granular.ag) or the app for iOS and Android. After that, just access the campaign link available on the company's social networks and wait for your account to be activated to start using it. Throughout the month, Granular will make available a series of materials with guidance on how to best use the tool.

Granular Insights uses images captured by a constellation of satellites, at a resolution of 3x3m, mostly from 10am to 14pm local time, to take advantage of the angle of the sun at its height and deliver only the highest quality images. “Before walking from field to field, the producer can direct his work by detecting, using Granular Insights, which area deserves the most attention that day,” concludes Melo.

The tool allows crops to be analyzed at any time, anywhere, with plot rankings to help prioritize and make decisions, even without internet or cell phone network. Granular Insights is available for use on computers and cell phones, with exclusive apps for iOS and Android and can be used in different cultures, at different stages of development.
