Government publishes minimum wheat price for the 2024-2025 harvest

The minimum prices for wheat grains and cereal seeds for the 2024/2025 harvest have been updated. The new values ​​were published in the Official Gazette and are set by the National Monetary Council (CMN), in accordance with the proposal sent by the National Supply Company (Conab) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa). The prices will be used as a reference in operations linked to the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM), which aims to ensure a minimum remuneration for rural producers.

According to Ordinance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock No. 688, the minimum prices for type 1 bread wheat grown in the southern region show a drop of 10,55% in relation to the 2023/2024 cycle, in the Southeast the reduction is 11,55. 15,75%, while in the Central-West and Bahia the drop is 10,55%. For wheat seed, the minimum price follows the XNUMX% decrease established for the southern states of the country.

An important factor for calculating the minimum price proposal remains the production cost. According to the Company's surveys, the drop follows the reduction in variable costs that were mainly affected by lower prices for fertilizers and agricultural pesticides.
