Boa Safra Sementes, leader in the production of soybean seeds in Brazil, informed the Market this Thursday, 13th, that it acquired land in the city of Sorriso, in Mato Grosso, for the construction of a Distribution Center. The initiative is part of the sowing expansion plan announced during the IPO process in April 2021. With the new structure, Boa Safra hopes to increasingly improve the customer journey, ensuring even greater quality, punctuality and security in deliveries.

The Sorriso land has 90 thousand m² and is located on the banks of BR-163. On site, up to 40.000 big bags can be stored in refrigerated positions (approximately 1.000 kg each). CDs like this will ensure that the benefited and treated seeds are stored for longer under ideal temperature and humidity conditions, thus maintaining their high germination capacity. Last year, the Company presented high quality in its seeds - the rates were 91,4% of average vigor and 94,9% of germination, above market standards, certified by the Germinax laboratory.

For the company, the biggest challenge of maintaining this quality lies in logistics. This is because, being far from the farmer, the seeds travel for up to a week - which reduces quality. “These centers will allow the producer to ship the seeds directly to the planting region so that they can plant them immediately. This reduction in time will bring an excellent gain in quality for the seed and, logically, more return for the customer. We are very excited about this expansion”, says Marino Colpo, CEO of the company.

CD de Sorriso is Boa Safra's fourth expansion project carried out after the IPO and adds to the expansions of Cabeceiras/GO, Buritis/MG and Jaborandi/BA, forming part of a medium-long term objective of having Distribution in the main regions of Brazil. The Company's plan is to begin work in Sorriso in the next few days and enter into operation later this year.
