Boa Safra announced that it is now offering corn seeds. The company's new corn hybrid is BS3319, which features PRO3 technology. This technology ensures broad flexibility in planting, good tolerance to major foliar diseases and strong resistance to stunting caused by leafhoppers.

The early variety has good stalk and grains with an intense, orange texture. In addition, BS3319 is recommended for planting from the beginning of the second harvest window, in January, until the end of the second harvest, in February.

According to the company, the seed is suitable for different regions of Brazil, ranging from the south to the Cerrado and North-Northeast. Among its characteristics are the height of the plant, varying between 2,30 m and 2,50 m, and the height of the ear, from 1,20 m to 1,45 m.

The ear has a cylindrical shape with 16 to 18 rows and good straw coverage, while the plant has a well-structured root system and physical resistance. These attributes are important to ensure the stability of the crop, even in adverse conditions.

Pedro Mena, corn crop consultant at Boa Safra, highlights that the next harvest has positive expectations: "expectations for the next corn harvest are quite encouraging. The maintenance of the planted area, driven by the appreciation of the grain, combined with the establishment of a consistent rainfall pattern throughout the country, indicates a high production potential and a favorable planting window for the second harvest."

The launch of the BS3319 hybrid is in line with Boa Safra's strategy of investing in technologies that contribute to productivity and sustainability in the field. Marino Colpo, CEO of Boa Safra, explains that the company has already worked with corn seeds, but in a limited way.

"Now, we are investing in research and technology together with partners to develop our own variety. Our expectation is that this launch will expand our operations in corn cultivation," he comments.
