The latest survey published on Friday, the 20th, shows that the harvest reached 90,98% of the entire planted area, compared to the 80,16% recorded on August 13th. The survey is carried out by the Cotton Culture Incentive Fund in Goiás (Fialgo), which coordinates the Boll Weevil Control Project in Goiás, responsible for monitoring the entire harvest period on cotton-producing farms in the state.
For the second consecutive week, Region 1, made up of the municipalities of Goiatuba, Morrinhos, Palmeiras de Goiás and Turvelândia, did not advance and maintained 76,13% of the harvest harvested, which represents 9,92% of the total area harvested in Goiás.
In Region 2, which brings together the municipalities of Caiapônia, Chapadão do Céu, Jataí, Montividiu, Mineiros, Rio Verde, Paraúna and Perolândia, 91,05% of its planted area was harvested, a big jump compared to the 78,43% recorded in the second week of August. This value corresponds to 51,65% of the entire planted area in Goiás.

In turn, Region 4, formed only by the municipality of Britânia, completed 100% of the harvest in the first week of August. However, this percentage represents 0,53% of the entire planted area in Goiás.
The team monitors the levels of the boll weevil pest and advises producers on what measures should be taken to control the insect during crop development and at the end of the harvest.
